Malika's areas of expertise include investment law, corporate structuring, and high-stakes arbitration. She has represented the Republic of Uzbekistan in multibillion-dollar investor-state arbitration proceedings before ICSID and ICC tribunals, acting as co-counsel alongside top-tier international law firms. Her litigation and arbitration experience includes managing complex cross-border disputes involving issues such as double taxation, expropriation, and breach of investment treaties, with individual case values reaching up to $1.2 billion.
Corporate and Commercial Litigation
She has also advised on and led high-value corporate and commercial litigation, including contract enforcement, land recovery disputes, and arbitration awards enforcement. Beyond her professional practice, Malika runs a free legal advice clinic serving the Central Asian and Russian-speaking community in the UK.
Qualifications
Malika's qualifications consist of a LLM in International Commercial Law from Brunel University London, and she has completed executive legal courses at Harvard Law School, International Arbitration Academy - Paris, The Hague Academy of International Law (Netherlands) and the International Monetary Fund. Malika is fluent in English, Uzbek, and Russian, with working knowledge of several regional languages.
